Vacation and a Baby Session

We were going to go to Chicago and spend a few days there for a small vacation, but decided against it. It just kills me to spend that much for gas! We decided to stay home and go to some of the places here that we always mean to go to but never seem to have the time. I am so tired from running around, but it is SO nice to be able to sleep in my own bed each night (except for last night)

Friday Katie and I met up with my friend Gina and her boys. We were only there for a few hours, but managed to get most of the animals and a few rides in before it got to hot!

I was a little intimated by these guys, even with the huge moat between us. They would sit and face the people watching them and just scan everyone.

And we ended the day with some face painting. :)

Saturday I mowed the lawn and got everything ready to leave Sunday morning to go down to the Mall of America and IKEA. I guess I am just not into the IKEA style. That is a good thing because I really liked the store but didn’t get to buy anything!

We stayed at the Radisson and were planning on spending the balance of the day at the water park they have attached to the hotel. It just wasn’t for littler kids, so we talked Katie into going to the mall and going on the rides. It turns out I have an amusement park addict on my hands. She is just barely tall enough to get on and we had to go on the Orange Streak 4 times and she made me go on the Splat O’ Meter. You know the ride that goes up to the ceiling in the park? The one that makes you feel like you are free falling? The one that doesn’t make you fall once, but SEVERAL times? Yeah, my child loved it and only complained about the harness being to tight. Meanwhile, I am sitting next to her about to scream my head off because I was petrified. NEVER NEVER NEEEEEEVVVVERRRRR again will I go on that ride. I like my heart and stomach right where they are. :)

Today we paid a visit the Minnesota Zoo, it was just way too hot to go there today. I swear every time we go there it is around 90 degrees. With having to walk a mile to see anything there, it was just too misearable to enjoy it. We came home and all piled on the bed to cool off and watch some tv.

After recharging tonight, we are off to the lake tomorrow for the day!

I will leave you with this little cutie. Have a great day!!
